Being a bibliophile, I am ever thankful that God has given us the gift of words. Through my writing, I aim to give words of glorification back to Him.
Below is a poem and a speech, both showcasing my love of books.

The Book Was Better (a speech)
The book is almost always better than the movie.
In a book, you can imagine the characters however you want, whereas, in a movie, you are confined to how the actors appear..
Reading a book makes you a better person because you can learn what it is like to be in somebody else’s shoes. You can feel like you are in the story because you can visualize it to whatever extent suits you. While watching a movie, you are entertained but not actively in the adventure. You know the characters, but they don’t know you.
In a book, you can take your time on serious, hard parts as well as quickly read the lighter, easier parts. In a film, the tempo stays the same, and you don’t have much time to think over the scenes as they flash before your eyes.
You can read a book as fast as you wish: in a week, a day, or even an hour! But in a theater, you have no control over the speed.
You can read with others and discuss as you do, but with movies, the whole room remains silent. The same book can be read and reread for years; a movie made many years to the prior might not be so easily watched as technology is always changing.
While movies themselves can be entertaining, books are overall better.
It is no accident that God deals directly to us through his BOOK. This is a nice thought.
THE BOOK WAS BETTER!
Amen!
