Make time to take time

You have most likely heard something like this before, whether it be from your own lips or someone else’s “I was so busy today, I don’t have time to read my bible” or “I stayed up so late doing homework, I am too tired to pray tonight.” Both of these statements seem like they have completely genuine reasoning to them, but, in truth, they don’t. Take our first one. Sure, you are busy, and many times this can’t be helped. We have to run errands, do schoolwork, be places at certain times, but something isn’t right if, at the end of your day, you can’t set aside even five minutes. Maybe you need to change your timing. Get up earlier, go to bed later, take a break in the middle of your day, anything that gives you even a few minutes. Reading as little as a few verses each day can still make a change in your life.

For our second one; school is a necessity and it is a necessity to get all your work done, but, in reality, you aren’t typically waking up and doing school until the second you fall asleep. You most likely have other hobbies. So, in truth, what other things are you doing? Watching movies? Reading books? Doing art? All of these things are fine to do, but you can certainly cut out some of that time for prayer. If you think about it, prayer is talking to God. I am sure that you know this is much more important than any other pastime you might have.

In conclusion, you might be busy, but it isn’t that you don’t have time for praying and reading the bible, it’s that you aren’t making the time for it or managing your time in a way that allows space for it. Remember that He’s coming back soon, there is NO more time to waste. Make time to take time for Jesus.
